
The Board conscious of the need to help resource the private sector with loans and pursue loan recoveries to build the Fund has allocated to the Credit Facility Account 80% of the balance of the Fund after provision for the Operational Account. The provisional maximum amount granted per project under this facility is the cedi equivalent of US$500,000.00. It is from this account that monies are applied to grant credit, export insurance, re-financing and credit guarantee to applicants.
EDIF under its Credit Facility scheme has supported companies and individuals in the Agro—Processing, Salt Mining and Processing, Wood Processing, Handicraft and Art Work sectors of the economy.
The Export Development and Promotion Account is made up of 20% of the balance of the Fund after provision for the Operational Account has been made. The provisional maximum amount allowed per project under this account is the cedi equivalent of US$100,000. The account provides funding to institutions, organizations, associations etc. providing service and direct infrastructure for the development and promotion of the country’s export sector.
Eximguaranty Company Ghana Limited has received support to provide Credit Guarantee to exporters, GEPC and GAFEA have received support for Capacity Building. The Export Development and Promotion Facility also has made substantial contribution towards the participation and organization of Fairs and Exhibitions as well as support for Research Institutions, such as the Crop Science Department of the University of Ghana as well as its research stations at Kpong and Kade.
